A tearful Bowman man pleaded guilty to felony DUI in a collision that took the life of one of his peers.
Kadeem Shanire Neals, 24, of 860 http://www.officialpiratessale.com/barry-bonds-jersey-c-1_3.html Rail St., admitted his guilt on Thursday afternoon before Circuit Judge Ed Dickson.
Dickson will sentence Neals at a later date pending a presentence investigation.
Prosecutors are recommending that Neals serve 10 years in the death of Nigel Dominique Willis, 22, of Bowman, on Nov. 23, 2016.
Assistant Solicitor Josh Edwards said the incident occurred when Neals was driving away from Bowman to Branchville at nearly 100 mph. He struck Willis, who was riding a skateboard.
After striking Willis, Neals’ vehicle flipped and ended up upside down in a field, Edwards said.
Medics took Neals to the hospital and blood work showed he had .14 blood alcohol content.
There were no other drugs in his system, Edwards said.
Willis’ mother and another family member were in the courtroom but didn’t address the court.
“I apologize to the victim. I knew her son. I was a friend to him,” Neals told the court.
“I never in a million years thought that there would be anyone in the curve right there,” he said.

Breen Stevens, Neals’ public defender, told the court, “These types of cases are tragic all the way around.”
Prior to the fatal crash, Neals was employed at http://www.officialredsprostore.com/joe-morgan-jersey-c-1_2.html Key West Boats, where he’d been working for one year and five months.
But prior to that, Neals served time in prison.
On Oct. 22, 2013, he pleaded guilty to violent second-degree burglary.
He was sentenced to 10 years.
He told the court that he served time and got out of prison in February 2015.
In September 2011, Neals and two other Bowman men were charged with four counts of attempted murder relating to a shooting that took place in the Cattle Creek Road area south of S.C. Highway 210.
An Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office investigator came upon a group of men talking, but when the investigator pulled up, at least one of the three men allegedly began firing at the officer and others.
The three men fled into the woods, but Neals surrendered nearly immediately.
Neals later pleaded guilty to Jay Bruce Womens Jersey unlawful carrying of a pistol and his four charges of attempted murder were dropped.
A date for Neals’ sentencing hearing has not yet been set.

Last in a 13-part series on the opponents the Green Bay Packers will face during the 2017 regular season.
GREEN BAY - A year ago, the Carolina http://www.rd-corp.com/matt-holliday-jersey-c-1_38.html Panthers were on the cusp of entering a season in which they were considered premier Super Bowl contenders.
Behind 2015 league MVP Cam Newton, the Panthers were coming off an NFC championship and, perhaps even more impressive, 15-1 regular-season record. The Panthers won their first 14 games in 2015, flirting with perfection before breezing through the playoffs.
Then they fell one field goal shy of winning Super Bowl 50.
RELATED: 2017 Packers opponents previews
So there was good reason the Panthers were an NFC favorite before last season. Instead, they lost five of their first six games, falling out of the playoff race before the end of October, eventually finishing 6-10.
The Panthers will try to pick up the pieces this fall. Perhaps the biggest conundrum in the NFC, it’s hard to know what to expect from the Panthers in 2017. The Packers' trip to Carolina on Dec. 17 could carry major playoff implications for both teams – or it could be mere formality.
Here are three things to know about the Panthers.
» Bringing home the Peppers: While Hall of Fame selections in the NFL technically aren’t inducted as members of a specific franchise as they are in baseball, team identification remains a poignant piece of their careers. When Julius Peppers is enshrined in Canton, quite possibly on the first ballot, fans will first remember his time with the Carolina Panthers. While Peppers’ time with the Green Bay Packers might’ve helped push Peppers over that threshold – he had 25 sacks and was selected to one Pro Bowl as an injury replacement in three seasons, with an even bigger postseason impact – the Panthers remain his home. Peppers, who ranks fifth on the NFL’s career sacks list, was drafted second http://www.texansprosale.com/lamar-miller-jersey-c-1_39.html overall by Carolina in the 2002 draft. He had 81 sacks while playing his first eight seasons with the Panthers. So when Peppers signed with Carolina as a free agent this spring, it provided the opportunity for a future hall of famer to end his career at the place it began.
» No more Norman: Maybe in theory it seemed like a good idea, but the biggest difference from 2015 to 2016 was the Panthers' decision to release cornerback Josh Norman. Even if Norman didn’t duplicate his All-Pro 2015 season during his first year in Washington, his absence left a clear void in the Panthers' secondary. After finishing 11th in pass defense in 2015 (235 pass yards allowed per game), the Panthers dropped to 29th last season (268). The Panthers led the NFL with an opposing passer rating of 73.5 in 2015, then dropped to 21st with a 92 opponents’ rating last season. Adding to the pass rush up front with Peppers might help, but the Panthers will need to be much sharper in the secondary this fall.
» Still Superman? Cam Newton was a deserving MVP in 2015. Behind a career-high 99.4 passer rating, Newton threw for 3,837 yards and 35 touchdowns with 10 interceptions. He also maintained the weapon that separates him from most quarterbacks, rushing for 636 yards and 10 touchdowns. Across the board, Newton’s production dipped significantly in 2016: 75.8 rating, 3,509 yards, 19 touchdowns, 14 interceptions, 359 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns. At his best, Newton’s dual-threat ability is unmatched in the NFL. His ability to move the chains with his legs while sparking big plays downfield with his arm presents one of the more difficult matchups for any defense. There’s no Brian Roberts Youth Jersey bigger factor influencing the Panthers' 2017 season than whether they get 2015 or 2016 Cam Newton this fall.

GEELONG coach Chris Scott has given http://www.firestormkennel.com/chris-clark-jersey-c-1_47.html a cheeky clip back at media commentator Kane Cornes while defending injured star Patrick Dangerfield.
Cornes suggested that the midfielder “exaggerates” injuries on the weekend following Dangerfield’s foot bone bruising suffered against Hawthorn.
The Cats star could potentially fly with the team to Adelaide for a Friday night top of the table clash, with Scott saying that he won’t need an answer on Dangerfield by Wednesday.
“It wouldn’t be a problem for me if he was tested at midday (on Friday),” Scott told Fox Footy’s AFL 360.

Scott said he wasn’t sure if the comment actually reflected Cornes’ “true feelings”.
“I think it’s attention-seeking behaviour ... so I’m inclined not to give it too much attention,” he said.
“As a coach you like to defend your players if you feel they need to be defended. Patrick Dangerfield doesn’t need me stepping in for him.
“He probably took it in the spirit in which it was intended and I tend to think it was a comment that was a legacy of the old Port-Crows rivalry rather than anything that reflected Kane’s true feelings.
“I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt on that one.”
Scott said in his experience Dangerfield did http://www.armacan.com/harrison-butker-jersey-c-1_29.html not exaggerate injuries, revealing that the Brownlow medallist played with broken ribs earlier this season.
“My experience with him is that he deals with pain pretty well - maybe we have different experiences and different perspectives,” Scott said.
Back in May, Scott played down Dangerfield’s situation, stating that he was simply “a little bit sore in the ribs” following a heavy collision with Hawthorn’s Jarryd Roughead on Easter Monday.

But he pointed to his own experiences with ankle and foot injuries as for a reason why the incident appeared to impact Dangerfield so heavily.
“This is a foot not an ankle (sprain), but it just feels terrible the day after and two days after, and you think how can I possibly play in a week or Shaq Thompson Youth Jersey whatever it is?” he said.
“And then they tend to come good.”
Both Scott and St Kilda coach Alan Richardson took Cornes’ comments in a lighthearted fashion, with the latter quipping, “Kane Cornes says he’s right to go so he’ll definitely play.”

CHARLOTTE, N.C. —
KeShun Freeman doesn’t want to go http://www.yadeos.com/daeshon-hall-jersey-c-1_3.html through 2015 again, certainly not as a senior. In 2015, the Georgia Tech defensive end was a sophomore, his team enjoying a preseason Top 25 ranking and dreams of a College Football Playoff berth after its 11-win season that was capped with an Orange Bowl win.
For various reasons, however, the Yellow Jackets flopped, finishing 3-9.
That was why Freeman stood in front of his team earlier this summer, giving teammates a PowerPoint presentation on Tech’s history of often faltering after successful seasons.
“This is (coach Paul Johnson’s) 10th year and in this time, we won here, we lost after that, we won here, pieced these two winning seasons together, lost there,” Freeman said, summarizing his speech. “We’ve got to break this cycle.”
The most egregious examples in Johnson’s tenure are the 2010 and 2015 seasons, when the Jackets followed two of Tech’s best seasons in the post-Bobby Dodd era with records of 6-7 and 3-9. In both seasons, there were other legitimate reasons for the drop-off besides the easy explanation of complacency. Still, Tech coaches and players are being mindful to prevent satisfied attitudes from ruining the coming season after their nine-win season in 2016 that included road wins at Virginia Tech and Georgia.
“We’ve talked about it,” Johnson said Friday at the ACC Kickoff. “I’ve talked to them about it, that now’s the time to put pedal to the metal, not to sit back on your laurels. You don’t get to carry any over.”
The 2017 team is different from the 2010 and 2015 teams in one notable way. It has lost key pieces from the 2016 roster, but not nearly in the numbers that the 2010 and 2015 teams did.
After Tech won the ACC in 2009, defensive end Derrick Morgan (2009 ACC defensive player of the year, first-round draft pick), wide receiver Demaryius Thomas (2009 All-American, first-round pick), safety Morgan Burnett (2008 All-American, third-round pick) and B-back Jonathan Dwyer (2008 ACC player of the year, sixth-round pick) were among the departures. After the 2014 season, nearly all of the key offensive http://www.arimtex.com/don-larsen-jersey-c-1_26.html skill players besides Thomas graduated, as well as All-American guard Shaquille Mason and All-ACC linebacker Quayshawn Nealy, a four-year starter.
From last year’s team, Tech did graduate its biggest star, quarterback Justin Thomas, two critical defenders (defensive tackle Patrick Gamble and linebacker P.J. Davis) and specialists Harrison Butker and Ryan Rodwell, but returns 16 starters.
Further, key injuries derailed the 2010 and 2015 teams. Johnson often has said he has not experienced a plague of injuries in his career like the one in 2015. Time will tell if the 2017 team can avoid the same fate.
Also, the forecast for the 2017 team is not nearly as rosy as it was for the 2010 and 2015 teams, in part because 2016 wasn’t as glorious as 2009 and 2014. The Jackets almost certainly won’t start the season in the Top 25, as those teams did. But they are cast as a strong contender for the Coastal title, which is better than the usual treatment.
Regardless, Tech’s DNA seems to include the underdog gene. Roddy Jones, a former team captain, offered a theory in J.J. Watt Womens Jersey a 2015 AJC article that Tech players often arrive on campus having been overlooked by other power-conference schools and generate motivation from that slight, and perhaps can have difficulty manufacturing drive when they’re getting showered with praise.
Does Georgia Tech really do better as underdog?
The 2014 team’s success, for instance, was borne in part from the frustration of back-to-back seven-win seasons. Those Jackets were picked to finish fifth in the Coastal Division.
“We kind of like playing with a chip on our shoulder,” Johnson said Friday. “We’re much better when we do that.”
In fact, “chip on the shoulder” is defined on a poster in the locker room, one of several terms that were officially part of the 2016 team’s vocabulary. (It begins “Having an edge; something to prove; vengeance.”)
Expectations of success often have been more difficult to attain. Since Dodd’s retirement after the 1966 season, Tech has been in the AP preseason poll eight times, including 2010 and 2015. The Jackets have finished unranked in five of those seasons. They finished with a higher ranking than the initial projection once (2009).
Hence, Freeman’s presentation, prepared with the help of safety Corey Griffin, complete with charts and video clips. It was part of “Team Focus Time,” a series of informal team meetings that Freeman and others instituted last offseason.
“Every time we have a good season, we end up with a bad season,” wide receiver Ricky Jeune said. “So we’re trying to break that trend.”
To Jeune, simply having an awareness of the potential pitfall of complacency will help.
“Just knowing in the back of your mind, like, Hey, we’re not going out like that,” said Jeune, a senior. “We’re going to have a good season.”
If it takes having a chip on their shoulder, the Jackets have them. They’ve lost three in a row to North Carolina and two consecutive to Clemson, Miami and Pittsburgh. For all the good feeling gained from last season, they still were only 4-4 in the ACC.
At the ACC Kickoff event, Freeman and Jeune both reported that the team has been put through highly intense summer workouts led by strength-and-conditioning coach John Sisk. A week ago, quarterback Matthew Jordan, who is on track to be ready for the start of preseason camp after a foot injury in spring practice, said the Owa Odighizuwa Youth Jersey workouts this summer have been the hardest since he has been at Tech.
“He’s really turning it up,” said Jordan of Sisk.
Summer workouts, messages and awareness are a start. Truer indications of the Jackets’ willingness to put 2016 behind will come when camp starts in early August.
“It’s all about the commitment,” Johnson said. “What are you willing to be committed (to)? What you willing to give up to achieve those things?”

Yankees' Brett Gardner: Hits bench Monday
Gardner is out of the lineup http://www.hssmstore.com/captain-munnerlyn-jersey-c-1_32.html Monday against the Twins, Pete Caldera of The Record reports.
In an effort to counter Twins southpaw starter Adalberto Mejia, the Yankees will move lefty hitters Gardner and Ji-Man Choi to the bench for the evening, allowing right-handers Clint Frazier and Garrett Cooper to enter the starting http://www.ky-oo32.com/kelvin-benjamin-jersey-c-1_5.html nine. Gardner is batting just .167/.277/.292 across 84 plate appearances against left-handers this season.

Whenever the Texans have needed http://www.ochomesnloans.com/matt-kalil-jersey-c-1_5.html veteran blocker Chris Clark to step in along the offensive line, he's been their top insurance policy.
Clark filled in capably when three-time Pro Bowl left tackle Duane Brown tore his quadriceps tendon.
And he became the Texans' starting right tackle when Derek Newton tore both patellar tendons last season against the Denver Broncos.
Although Clark didn't grade out as highly as the past when he started 14 games at left or right tackle last season, he held up solidly overall.
Entering the second year of a $6 million http://www.yadeos.com/fozzy-whittaker-jersey-c-1_16.html contract, Clark has made a full recovery from an offseason shoulder cleanup procedure.

Since the dawn of Lombardia... the kingdom http://www.cinemakolik.com/curtis-samuel-jersey-c-1_10.html of Pantheros was ruled by no one. An untamed harsh land of roaming tribesman and thieves. That was until the year 1995, when Jerry of house Richardson united the tribes and civilized them into houses, with the goal of one leader to guide and rule them all. There he sits atop the blacktooth throne, reaping the fruits of his labor, and plotting to one day ascend to the silver throne currently held by Robert of house Kraft.
By and large, there is peace in the land... but a dark flame looms on the southern horizon in the land of Spartanburg. The houses are beginning to become restless, and the heat is building...
In central Pantheros, the area closest to the blacktooth throne, House Davis is led by Bradley Smith. They are comprised of grizzled war veterans that have seen their fair share of conflict and weathered it all. From dynastic namesake Thomas Davis, to field general Cam Newton, and the ultimate fighting machine Luke Kuechly... house Davis is the strongest and wealthiest of all the houses. However, this house is known for sitting on their laurels and not doing much when the heat is on, preferring to save their energy for when it is needed most, their place in the world being very secure.
In the North, a race of gargantuan http://www.dusenadup.com/james-bradberry-jersey-c-1_29.html individuals led by Erik Sommers, is tasked with the protection of incursion against the central crown from the hordes of the 31 other kingdoms looking to sack it for themselves. Their army stands tall and proud, led by generals Ryan Kalil, Trai Turner, and Andrew Norwell, making one of the most formidable center guards in all of Lombardia. They are inexperienced at the flanks however, with those regiments headed by Matt Kalil and Daryl Williams. These fighters prefer to bring the fight in cooler weather, and are known for their unquenchable thirst when the summers arrive. However, if Jerry of Richardson is to ever ascend to the silver throne of Lombardia they MUST succeed in their mission.
House Bersin, led by Brian Beversluis, rules in the harsh lands of the south. Their capital, Spartanburg, is where the yearly “training camp” is held, featuring games of skill and strength. It is at this annual event that fortunes are won and lost, and unfortunately for House Bersin, they usually bear the brunt of the casualties. Though their house may be comprised mainly of underdogs and newcomers, they are tenacious, and some of them just seem to keep fighting year after year. They thrive in the heat, and fight Kurt Coleman Kids Jersey their absolute hardest day in and day out, led by generals Brenton Bersin, Jeremy Cash, Colin Jones, and perhaps the most fierce fighter in the land, leader of the 3rd Cavalry Battalion... Captain Captain Munnerlyn.
Which house will be victorious in this, the 22nd annual training camp? The games begin in two short weeks, steel yourselves and make haste to Spartanburg, because once again...

Famous quarterback whisperer David http://www.officialredssale.com/drew-storen-jersey-c-1_23.html Whitfield Jr. thinks very highly of former quarterback turned receiver Braxton Miller of the Houston Texans.
Whitfield, who worked with Miller during his days as the quarterback of the Ohio State Buckeyes. Then, following shoulder surgery in 2014, he famously (and smartly) made the move to receiver to give himself the best chance at a productive professional career.
Speaking about his former pupil during an interview with John McClain of the Houston Chronicle, Whitfield gushed about his abilities.
That’s some very high praise, but we’re http://www.rd-corp.com/starlin-castro-jersey-c-1_8.html not surprised. Miller made national headlines when he pulled off one of the most amazing spin moves anyone’s ever seen in a nationally televised game as a member of the Buckeyes (watch here).
The Texans took Miller in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He played in 10 games last year as a rookie, catching 15 passes for 99 yards and one touchdown.
He has some seriously fantastic after-the-catch abilities and is capable of burning NFL-caliber cornerbacks in the slot. It would be Will Fuller V Youth Jersey surprising if he didn’t get more involved with Houston’s offense in Year 2 following an injury-shortened rookie campaign.

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco will officially be entering his 10th season in 2017 with 32,639 passing yards under his belt. Flacco http://www.armacan.com/daryl-worley-jersey-c-1_45.html only needs 2,361 yards in 2017 to becoming the 26th player in NFL history to throw for 35,000 passing yards.
Flacco is currently ninth among active players in passing yards behind Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Eli Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, Phillip Rivers, Carson Palmer, Matt Ryan and Aaron Rodgers. When you think of the greatest quarterbacks in the league, this is usually the list of players that top it, putting Flacco in pretty elite territory.
People don’t think about Flacco too much into terms of longevity and production. Each season critics say Flacco is overpaid with his three-year, $66 million contract extension in 2016 and how he isn’t good enough to take Baltimore to a Super Bowl.
Yet, Flacco was Super Bowl XLVII’s MVP. He also has 25 postseason touchdowns which is tied for 10th all-time in NFL history. Flacco is a http://www.cinemakolik.com/daryl-worley-jersey-c-1_36.html quiet player who just goes about handling his own business without the fanfare or headlines of the quarterbacks above him on the list.
Flacco enters the 2017 season with the potential to have the best combination of weapons at receiver he has ever had. Wide receiver Breshad Perriman is emerging into a playmaker this offseason and Mike Wallace has returned for another season after leading the Ravens in receiving yards with 1,017 and hauled in four touchdowns. Jeremy Maclin is the new addition and should add a new wrinkle to the mix for Flacco to hopefully see him reach new heights.
If Flacco can put together passing yard production like we saw last season, he’ll fly past a number of amazing quarterbacks en route to 36,956 yards and No. 24 on the all-time passer list. He’ll pass quarterbacks like Troy Aikman, Ken Cameron Artis-Payne Womens Jersey Anderson, Y.A. Tittle, Steve Young, Phil Simms, Tony Romo, Jim Kelly and Matt Hasselbeck.
Those are all names few people expected Flacco to surpass during his career. Yet, just like Flacco’s demeanor, he’s set to do so quietly in 2017.

Denmark-Walpole’s season came to http://www.hssmstore.com/brenton-bersin-jersey-c-1_5.html a heartbreaking end on Saturday after being overhauled by Royals in a thrilling final term.
Despite leading for the majority of the round-nine contest played in greasy conditions at Centennial Stadium, the Magpies fell short by three points.
Needing a win to keep their finals hopes alive, the Magpies played like a team possessed as they booted the only three goals of the opening term and converted one of their four inside-50 entries in the second quarter to hold a 12-point advantage at the long break.
The Lions responded with three goals in the third term but two classy finishes from Kleemann Medal fancy Ryan Gaerth ensured the Magpies kept their noses in front going into the final stanza.
The Magpies led by three points when the last quarter began and what transpired resembled a finals-like match as the two sides traded goals.
There were seven lead changes in an epic fourth term as Harry Broomhall gave the home side the advantage back, only for Paris Ropiha to reply at the other end.
Sam Baddeley-Holmes, who had been well held for much of the day, booted his second to put the Lions up but a miraculous snap from Magpies youngster Tom Candy dribbled in soon after as the visitors went three points ahead again.
Jaxon Nottle helped the Lions hit the front with a long-range snap but the Magpies, playing far better than a side that has won just one game, kept responding and a clutch set shot from Paris Ropiha had them up by two points.
The Lions continued to pump the http://www.ky-oo32.com/captain-munnerlyn-jersey-c-1_29.html ball inside their forward 50 and they were rewarded, but not through goals as three consecutive points, including two behinds to the returning Michael McGlade, gave the home side the lead with seven minutes to play.
A point to Ryan Kinnear doubled the Lions buffer and the Magpies tried desperately to get the ball to the opposite end. But the Lions were able to clog play up on the scoreboard wing, making it tough to go forward in the strong breeze pushing across the ground.
Cent Amores kicked a late behind but it was enough to hold the gallant Magpies at bay as the Lions pinched an unlikely victory, 8.17 (65) to 9.8 (62).
The loss leaves the Magpies with one win to their name from nine games and now five games plus percentage behind the top four with six games left in the regular season.
It was a bitter pill to swallow for the Magpies after being in front almost all day and kicking nine goals from just 31 inside 50 entries.
Gaerth was superb in the middle of the ground in a best-afield display for the losing side, while Brody Hickey shone in defence and Paris Ropiha finished with three majors. Magpies coach Matt Candy said his players were gutted with the result but conceded it was their best performance of a disappointing season.
“We did everything right and should have won,” he said. “The boys are devastated especially in Simmo’s (Barker) 100th game.
“We didn’t fall over the line and they did but I thought our pressure on their ball carriers was great.”
The loss was soured by a yellow card and report to returning vice-captain Luke Hutcheson for a dangerous tackle on Lions’ Corey Draper in the second term. Hutcheson took a one-match ban offered by the umpires for rough conduct.
The Lions had 42 inside 50s, including 14 in the final term, but the result gives them breathing space at the top of the ladder.
Michael McGlade was terrific coming Daryl Worley Youth Jersey back from injury in the win while midfielders Henry Hodge, Dave Parker and Corey Ward were all influential. Lions coach James McRae said his side came out flat after the two-week break.
“It was the ugliest footy we’ve played in a long time,” McRae said.
“But to be successful winning pretty is not the best and we just had to get the four points. Denmark had to win and they were always going to come out hard.”

That Time a 17-Year-Old Tom Brady Borrowed Ken Griffey Jr.’s Jersey
Welcome to Baseball Week. As http://www.arimtex.com/brett-gardner-jersey-c-1_28.html training camp approaches and baseball takes a break for its mid-summer classic, The MMQB presents a week of stories on the crossover between hardball and football.
In the spring of 1995, with the MLB draft just around the corner, the Seattle Mariners invited two dozen or so prospects to work out at the Kingdome. The group included a mix of college and high school players, some big-time prospects and some long shots. Among them was a promising 17-year-old catcher from the Bay Area named Tom Brady.
The Mariners let the prospects change in the home clubhouse before the director of scouting ran them through drills on the field: the 60-yard dash, fielding exercises and batting practice. The prospects used wooden bats, just like the pros, and Brady even hit a few out of the park. “It was an incredible life experience,” Brady told http://www.firestormkennel.com/greg-mancz-jersey-c-1_20.html The MMQB in an email interview.
But the real highlight of the day came during a quiet moment in the clubhouse, where Brady and Greg Millichap, his high school teammate who was also invited to the tryout, came upon Ken Griffey Jr.’s locker. Back then, Griffey was arguably the most popular player on the planet. He was The Kid, 25 years old and already a perennial All-Star. Nintendo had just put him on the cover of a video game. Thousands of kids around the country were turning their hats backward and imitating his sweet swing.
And there, in the locker, hung Ken Griffey Jr.’s jersey.
So Brady and Millichap took turns trying it on and checking themselves out in a mirror. On their flight home, Brady turned to Millichap and said, Can you believe we just did that?
“The jersey was cool,” Brady writes today. “Ken Griffey Jr. was the idol of all of us at that age.”
With the MLB draft fast approaching, Brady had some thinking to do. At Junipero Serra High School, in San Mateo, Calif., he was captain of the baseball team and the star quarterback. He had a scholarship to play football at Shane Vereen Authentic Jersey Michigan in the fall, and it seemed likely that an MLB team would draft him. But he couldn’t take the baseball signing bonus money and play college football. By the end of the summer he’d have to choose.

The story of the now-underappreciated Joey Votto, Zack Cozart and an All-Star donkey
MIAMI -- Weeks back, the story got http://www.officialpiratessale.com/barry-bonds-jersey-c-1_3.html out that Reds shortstop Zack Cozart loves donkeys and that if he made the All-Star team, fellow All-Star teammate Joey Votto was going to get him one (full story here).
In fact, here's a hilarious video of Votto talking about picking one up off the black market:
Now that Cozart is an All-Star, Votto is going to follow through with his pledge.
"We have like a 10-game homestand after the break, so I'm sure it'll happen then," Cozart said of the pending transaction. "It's pretty funny how this donkey talk has taken off."
It is.
But mostly, Cozart wanted to sing the praises of his teammate and friend.
"I used to be a little intimidated by him," Cozart admitted. "You know, MVP, it's Joey Votto. Now we're good friends and he's helped me out. His role, obviously, but just in becoming a better player. A guy like him, MVP, Silver Slugger, you can name it and he still works harder than anyone and that's why he is, in my opinion, the best hitter in the game today."
It's a simple statement that I'm sure many would refute. For some reason, there's been some lingering stigma about Votto. Maybe it's his gargantuan contract or his low RBI total from several years back. Whatever it might be, it needs to change.
Since the start of the 2015 season, Votto has hit .319/.442/.565, good for a 168 OPS+. In that time period, only four players have at least 500 plate appearances and are hitting over .300/.400/.500: Votto, Mike Trout, Paul Goldschmidt and Miguel Cabrera. Votto is second in that group in OPS+ behind only Trout.
Trout is the best player in the world, but Votto might http://www.officialredsprostore.com/pete-rose-jersey-c-1_20.html be the best pure hitter right now. And yet, he's a bit underappreciated. Cozart believes he is.
"Being in Cincinnati, you don't get a lot of pub in our city," he said. "I think if he was on a bigger-market team people would be talking daily about how special of a season he's having. This year, he's been unbelievable. There are so many good first baseman, so it's easy to get lost but he's up there toward the top."
Want to know how insane Votto has been this year? He's on pace to hit .315/.427/.631 with 35 doubles, 48 home runs, 125 RBI and 120 runs. Holy smokes, that's a career year for one of the best pure, all-around hitters in the last few generations.
Votto has even rubbed off some on his teammate. Cozart made an adjustment this season, thanks in part to watching Votto.
"I made a change in Spring Training, putting my bat on my shoulder as my setup instead of having my hands up," Cozart said. "I get to my hitting position quicker, so I feel like my timing is better. You see Joey do it. He starts here and he's the best at it. It's worked out for me so far."
It is. Cozart came into the year a career .246/.289/.385 hitter. Now at the break, he's hitting .316/.394/.547 this season.
Cozart is a free agent after the season and the Reds aren't contenders. So he might be traded this month. Even if he's not, he's likely gone at the end of the season.
Regardless, he'll have his goat, his friendship with Votto, the adjustments he made due in part to Votto and the memory Johnny Cueto Youth Jersey of the 2017 All-Star Game with Votto.

Film Room: Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart's unstoppable stiff arm
As excited as we are about what http://www.firestormkennel.com/braxton-miller-jersey-c-1_26.html Christian McCaffrey is going to do in the NFL, those who assume he’s going to be Carolina’s top running back this season probably need to slow their roll.
McCaffrey does many things well, chief among them making tacklers miss in space. His stutter-step move is as lethal as they come, and he may well be the single most difficult player to bring down in the open field. However, we’re willing to bet green money he can’t break tackles the way Jonathan Stewart can.
The Panthers’ 10-year veteran is as good http://www.armacan.com/christian-mccaffrey-jersey-c-1_19.html as it gets when it comes to absorbing contact and brushing defenders off.
One reason Stewart is so successful at breaking tackles is his unstoppable stiff-arm move, which is the game’s best outside of Marshawn Lynch.
Here are four excellent examples of Stewart making defenders look silly with his patented stiff-arm:
Stewart may be on the wrong side of 30 years old, and he has a hot young prospect gunning for his position, but for now he’s still Carolina’s starting Greg Olsen Womens Jersey running back and is projected to be their primary ball-carrier. Adjust your fantasy expectations accordingly.

Three Questions: 2017 Cornerbacks
After being thrown into the fire and working http://www.hl-sapporo.com/daryl-worley-jersey-c-1_15.html through the rookie growing pains, cornerbacks James Bradberry and Daryl Worley ended the 2016 season on a high note, giving the Panthers confidence in their ability to stabilize the position going forward. The team was ecstatic to bring back fiery veteran Captain Munnerlyn, who is viewed as the perfect nickel for Carolina’s defense.
THREE QUESTIONS
1. How big a step will Bradberry and Worley take in Year Two?
The Panthers’ front seven is unquestionably talented and deep. It’s the second-year corners that can make this defense one of the top units in the league. Bradberry and Worley are expected to make a sizable jump entering Year Two, and http://www.hssmstore.com/ed-dickson-jersey-c-1_44.html they’ve got the physical tools to flourish with some experience under their belts. Their development is essential in combating the high-powered NFC South passing attacks.
2. What kind of impact will Munnerlyn make?
Captain’s veteran presence and leadership has already been a huge help to Carolina’s young secondary during offseason workouts. And his playmaking ability at the nickel spot is something the Panthers have missed since he left for Minnesota three years ago. He could very well be the missing piece of the puzzle to get this defense back where it needs to be.
3. Who will provide the depth behind the starters?
As mentioned above, there are reasons to be confident about the trio of Bradberry, Worley and Munnerlyn. But if injuries were to strike, what about the guys behind them? There isn’t much proven depth to speak of. Teddy Daeshon Hall Womens Jersey Williams and Zack Sanchez are the only ones with any NFL game experience, and that experience is very limited. Corn Elder, like Sanchez the year before, was drafted in the fifth round. We’ll see if he can prove to the coaches that he can be counted on in a reserve role.

Yankees Split Doubleheader, Series, with Red Sox
BOSTON — The Yankees’ first winning streak in a month came and went Sunday in about six hours — the time that passed from their 3-0 win http://www.firestormkennel.com/andre-hal-jersey-c-1_16.html over the Boston Red Sox in the first game of a doubleheader to their 3-0 loss in the nightcap, the first time the Yankees have been shut out this season.
But even getting shackled by Red Sox starter David Price could not keep the Yankees from feeling buoyant about their marathon weekend of baseball, in which they played 43 innings in about 52 hours.
The Yankees leave here the same as they arrived — three and a half games behind the Red Sox — but in a much better place. The fatigue of a brutal schedule, the bruises from a dreadful month and the faded confidence of a pitching staff were all salved by the weekend visit to Fenway Park.
And even any jitters of the first mini-funk of Aaron Judge’s career were eased when in his final at-bat he crushed a 95-mile-per-hour fastball from Price — only to have Jackie Bradley Jr. leap at the center-field wall and snatch it back.
The catch, in the eighth inning of the second game with a runner aboard, brought the crowd to its feet — something it had few reasons to do after the Red Sox won the series opener in dramatic fashion, pushing across two runs in the bottom of the ninth on Friday against Yankees closer Aroldis Chapman.
The Yankees won Saturday in a game that dragged on for 16 innings, leaving their bullpen — whose 18 blown saves are the most in the http://www.armacan.com/graham-gano-jersey-c-1_43.html majors — exhausted but perhaps feeling as if it had steadied itself with nine shutout innings. That was buttressed by C .C. Sabathia’s fine performance earlier on Sunday, when he combined with three relievers to blank the Red Sox.
The consecutive victories did wonders for the outlook of the Yankees, who had lost 19 of their previous 26 games. They are on the first leg of an 11-game trip in 10 days that will next take them to Minneapolis and Seattle.
It was especially rejuvenating for a pitching staff that had been beleaguered, but did not allow the Red Sox to score from the time Mitch Moreland hit a sacrifice fly in the third inning on Saturday until Mookie Betts launched a two-run home run over the Green Monster in the third inning on Sunday night. It was a span of 24 innings.
“We’re going in the right direction,” Manager Joe Girardi said, “and I think part of that was getting our bullpen back on track and getting some people healthy,” he said, referring to the return of Matt Holliday and Starlin Castro to Scott Simonson Jersey the lineup.
The Yankees have won six of their nine games against the Red Sox this season. Three were by shutout, and in each of the others, the Yankees allowed only one run. The Red Sox are 3 for 58 with runners in scoring position against the Yankees this season.

Brian M. Tergerson: Dear Drew, Greg Mancz did great last year. Nick Martin should take his position. Could you see Greg http://www.hl-sapporo.com/captain-munnerlyn-jersey-c-1_17.html moving into the guard position easily, or vice versa?
DD: I agree with your first two opinions. Mancz was rock-solid in 2016 and missed just one snap the entire year. But Martin showed a lot of promise last May, June and August before a leg injury ended what would have been his rookie season.
As far as Mancz competing for a guard spot, it could happen. But Xavier Su'a-Filo and Jeff Allen will have a lot to say about that, as they were the starters last year. At a minimum, if Martin, Su'a-Filo and Allen are good enough to keep Mancz from starting at any of those interior spots, the depth and quality of offensive line will be better in 2017.
Mike Ledesma: Dear Drew, Can you please get some Texans gear down here central Texas!
DD: Sorry to hear it. If you're having trouble finding Texans gear at Academy Sports Outdoors, check out shop.HoustonTexans.com.
Samantha Hallas: Dear Drew, I am so impatient and can't wait to see some Texans football again!! Anyway my question is: Do you think rookie RB D'Onta Foreman see a lot of playing time this season?
DD: Yes. Lamar Miller is the starter, but I think Foreman will definitely get some carries in 2017. He was outstanding at the University of Texas, and is a powerful running back.
Alejandro Mazal: Dear Drew, How much http://www.hssmstore.com/scott-simonson-jersey-c-1_6.html action will Watson see in the preseason games against Dallas and NE? I'm trying to decide if I should go or not.
DD: Alejandro, you should definitely go. You can learn a lot about some of the guys not named Watt, Hopkins or Clowney during the August games.
I'd expect Watson to play in both contests, but have no clue how Bill O'Brien will divide the reps between the trio of quarterbacks.
Matt Brawley: Dear Drew, On a Rick Flair scale of 1-10, how many "wooooos" would you give the Texans chances of a Super Bowl this year?
DD: Watkins, like the rest of the players in the front seven, will likely move around a bit on the line. Yes, you'll probably see him as a defensive end, and yet you'll also very likely see him playing on the inside in certain situations. That's one Julius Peppers Authentic Jersey of the beauties of the personnel and scheme of this defense.
Michael Ruiz: Dear Drew, What can we expect out of Tom Savage this season?
DD: Command of the offense, good decision-making, toughness and leadership. I believe Savage will do some really good things this year.

When the Bucks announced last month that, in celebration of the team's 50th anniversary, they would play a game at the MECCA this http://www.yadeos.com/jj-jansen-jersey-c-1_35.html season, it got us to thinking about arenas and history – especially as the franchise's future venue is quickly being built just down the street from its previous two buildings. Who were the best players from the old MECCA years? What about those from the more recent Bradley Center era?
The MECCA hosted some of the best basketball Milwaukee's ever seen – from the 1971 NBA Championship to the stretch of seven straight division titles in the '80s – during its time as the Bucks' home court (1968-88). Since the team's move to the Bradley Center in 1988, there's been significantly less success – though the 2001 Eastern Conference Finals team had plenty of individual talent, and the current squad has shown the league its huge potential.
When Giannis Antetokounmpo and the rest of the Bucks move into their new arena – scheduled to be completed in time for the start of the 2018 season – they'll undoubtedly make their mark on and leave plenty of memories at the yet-unnamed building.
Until then, to commemorate the great players who hooped at the MECCA, as well as those that balled at the BC, we picked completely subjective, open-to-disagreement but nonetheless-authoritative All-Arena teams for both venues. (Note: The selection process was so difficult that we had to pick second teams; also, we used the current All-NBA format of choosing two guards, two forwards and a center, then we added a sixth man and a coach for each team.)
On Wednesday, we published our picks for Milwaukee's All-MECCA teams, and today we present the Bucks' All-Bradley Center teams:
Milwaukee Bucks' All-Bradley Center First Team
Guard: Ray Allen (1996-2003) – A two-time All-Star in Milwaukee, Allen in 2001 was an All-NBA Third Teamer and part of the Big Three http://www.arimtex.com/don-mattingly-jersey-c-1_24.html that the Bucks to the Eastern Conference Finals. He ranks sixth all-time in points per game average (19.6) and minutes (36.3), and is among the franchise's top 10 in total scoring, games played, minutes, steals, field-goal, 3-point and free-throw shooting. Adored in the community, Allen remains one of the most popular players among fans, and hopefully he'll make a celebratory return to the BC this season while the Bucks are still there.
Guard: Michael Redd (2000-11) – One of the best shooters the Bucks have ever had, Redd – a second-round draft pick – ranks fourth in franchise history in scoring (11,554) and fifth in points per game average (20.0), despite having played on some of Milwaukee's lousiest teams. The lefty is in the Bucks' top three in 3-pointers made, 3-pointers attempted, free throws made and free throws attempted; in 2004, he was an All-Star and All-NBA Third Teamer. Had knee injuries not derailed his career, he could have been one of the organization's greatest players.
Forward: Glenn Robinson (1994-2002) – The Big Dog is the Bucks' second-leading scorer all-time in both total points (12,010) and per-game average (21.1). The former No. 1 overall draft pick signed a rookie-record 10-year, $68 million deal in 1994, and went on to be a two-time All-Star in Milwaukee. One of the most gifted offensive players that ever suited up for the Bucks, Robinson ranks among their top five in nearly every shooting category and was an underrated rebounder. Fun fact: He has 300 more turnovers than the next-highest person on the list.
Forward: Vin Baker (1993-97) – The physically dominant power forward spent five very extremely productive seasons with the Bucks, before being traded to Seattle and enduring personal problems. In Milwaukee, Baker made three All-Star teams, was named to the All-NBA Second Team and averaged 18.3 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. He ranks second in team history in minutes per game (38.3) and third in rebounding average (9.5). From 1994-97, Baker and Robinson formed one of the league's most unstoppable frontcourts.
Center: Andrew Bogut (2005-12) – The No. 1 overall draft pick in 2005, Bogut's career in Milwaukee was promise-filled, occasionally productive and injury-plagued. In 408 games over seven seasons, Bogut averaged 12.7 J.J. Watt Youth Jersey points, 9.3 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game, earning All-NBA Third Team honors in 2010, when he put up 15.9, 10.2 and 2.5. When he was healthy, he was one of the most consistent and important centers in the league. In 2012, he fractured his ankle and was traded to Golden State.

Ten players with the most to lose in NFL training camp
With NFL training camp on the http://www.armacan.com/daryl-worley-jersey-c-1_45.html horizon, football season is finally in sight. The months-long trek to Minneapolis — the site of Super Bowl LII — is about to begin. Soon, it’ll be time for Hard Knocks, the Hall of Fame Game, mock fantasy drafts and unfounded preseason hype.
Training camp is where some unknown players get their starts. But it’s also where many careers meet their end. For every undrafted free agent whose dreams come true, a stalwart veteran loses his job. There are quarterbacks whose performances relegate them to the bench and franchise legends who get cut. Players have a lot to lose.
This list examines 10 players who come into camp with jobs on the line. Some are staring at time on the bench, but others could see their careers end if they don’t perform. The NFL is a ruthless business.
It’s rare that a second-round pick gets cut in his second season before ever playing, or even making the active roster on gameday. But the Jets have a talent for the unique. Despite a truly horrific quarterback situation — Hackenberg, Josh McCown and Bryce Petty will be duking it out for the job — Hackenberg is already in third place out of three.
During minicamp, Hackenberg’s accuracy http://www.cinemakolik.com/julius-peppers-jersey-c-1_5.html was so bad that he hit reporters standing on the sideline. It doesn’t reflect well on the Penn State product that he wasn’t good enough to be on the active roster last season, even as the Jets looked high and low for a solution at quarterback.
Head coach Todd Bowles may not cut Hackenberg this year. It would be an embarrassing mark on GM Mike Maccagnan’s record, and one has to imagine the organization sees something in him. After all, it did spend a second-round pick on Hackenberg for some reason.
But failing to land the starting job this year, when the alternatives are McCown (a 38-year old with no discernible upside) and Petty (who already tried and failed to impress under center last season) is nearly as bad. If nothing else, it would be another indicator that the Jets threw away a second rounder, and that Hackenberg will never be good enough to play in the NFL.
Brock Osweiler, quarterback, Cleveland Browns
At this point, it’s clear what will happen to Osweiler over the next year. Whether he wins the starting job over Notre Dame product DeShone Kizer or not, there’s no monetary incentive for the Browns to cut him this season. It would only Fozzy Whittaker Jersey create $16 million in dead cap space, per Spotrac. Unless Osweiler magically transforms into the second coming of Bernie Kosar, however, Cleveland will almost certainly get rid of him after this season when his contract has an out that allows the Browns to cut him without losing a dime.

Trai Turner just a solid extension from http://www.hssmstore.com/brenton-bersin-jersey-c-1_5.html the Panthers in the amount of $45 million over the next four seasons which includes $20.3 million guaranteed. Turner has reached back-to-back Pro Bowls so the guard deserved it. (Trai Turner on Twittter)
Fantasy Impact
Turner had a down season last year but is one of the more sure bets on Carolina's offensive line. His solid play bodes well for Cam Newton http://www.ky-oo32.com/curtis-samuel-jersey-c-1_26.html and Jonathan Stewart in fantasy this season.
